Geological Hazards

Wasatch County is not immune from geological hazards within its boundaries.  It is wise and prudent that we all should become aware of the risk and danger associated with building in geologically hazardous areas.  We have provided an overlay zone to address standards, guidelines, and criteria, having the effect of minimizing Geologic Hazards and manmade hazards and to protect people and property while protecting the natural scenic character of the sensitive lands area not suitable for developments, or suitable for development only after mitigation of hazards and ensuring the efficient expenditure of public funds.
